The Ventura County SELPA regularly convenes a committee of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) representing each of our SELPA school districts. This group assesses need and develops the annual plan for training to support Speech-Language Pathologists in our SELPA.

 The Ventura County SELPA is also certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association ( ASHA) to provide professional development CEUs for SLPs and audiologists. SLPs are required to obtain a certain number of CEUs in order to maintain licensure. Calif. Board of Consumer Affairs-SLP licensure. Annual fees for registering CEUs with ASHA are paid directly to ASHA.
A $5.00 fee is paid to the Ventura County SELPA for each event for registering your CEUs for you. You will also be required to submit an Assessment of Learner Outcomes at the end of each event.
